- Locate utilities and stake the dig.
- Strip topsoil and stockpile for reuse.
- Excavate to grade, hauling or stockpiling spoil as planned.
- Compact, backfill, and rough-grade as the job calls for.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Do I need a permit for excavation?
For most rural residential dirt work in Alabama, no. Foundations, septic, anything tied to a building permit, and work near streams or wetlands do require permits — we'll tell you what your job needs.
Can you dig in wet weather?
We can, but it usually costs more and tears up the site. For most jobs we wait a few days after heavy rain.
